GINGER KENNEY

Ginger Kenney consults in writing and editing for the design, technical, and psychology professions. She is coauthor of the book Mission and Place: Strengthening Learning and Community through Campus Design (Rowman & Littlefield: 2005) and of “Planning Principles for a Sustainable Campus”, a chapter in the book Campus Design + Planning: Culture, Context and the Pursuit of Sustainability (Canadian Green Building Council: 2008). In addition, Ms. Kenney has drafted and edited numerous articles, reports, and proposals related to higher education, planning, design, and sustainability.

With over twenty-five years’ experience in systems and organizational consulting, Ms. Kenney has written reports and presentations for the most senior levels of management in corporations as well as nonprofit institutions. While a vice president at Mirror Systems, a wholly owned subsidiary of the Times Mirror Corporation, she led the development of a number of multimedia training tools and guides for doctors, managers, students, and other groups. She has also led and documented roundtable discussions and workshops involving a wide range of constituencies, including members of the American Council on Education and the National Association of College and University Business Officers. She has been a presenter at conferences sponsored by the Society for College and University Planning and the Canadian Green Building Council.

In addition to her professional activities, Ms. Kenney writes speculative fiction. Her travelogs and photography may also be seen on her Web site.

Ms. Kenney holds a Master of Architecture degree from the Harvard Graduate School of Design. She received her Bachelor of Arts in Liberal Arts from St. John’s College, with campuses in Annapolis, Maryland and Santa Fe, New Mexico. She has served as a member of the College’s Board of Visitors and Governors, as president of the Boston chapter of the Alumni Association, and as a member of the Alumni Association’s Board of Directors. Ms. Kenney has also conducted post-doctoral research in psychology at the Center for Creative Leadership in Greensboro, North Carolina.
